Island Fever

Island Fever, "We're all here because we're not all there!"

Island Fever is the culmination of a life long passion for the hospitality industry and island lifestyle of Devin & Christine Nelles. They are both hospitality professionals and Boutique Hotel Consultants (www.islandfevervillas.com). Island Fever was created from the dream of bringing their passion for island living, food, and craft cocktails to life. Island Fever is a Lifestyle Brand that seeks to showcase island life through local food-ways highlighting seafood & comfort food.

Our restaurant gets such a mix of Locals, Expats, Tourists, Students, and Sailors so it’s a great place to sit back and relax and people watch. The marina is always so full of life with dinghies and sails boats coming and going. Live aboard families enjoying island life combined with the various family businesses in our Petite Calivigny Bay marina village and the various people visiting them creates such a gentle buzz about the place. LPB is like a little quaint village. Our concept when redefining this restaurant space really became about bringing life and traffic through it and making it a social gathering spot. When you look at the resort and cottages combined with the marina and all the various tenants it made sense to call it a Tavern.

Tavern Defined:
Taverns serve as gathering places for the community to eat and drink or sleep in the rooms functioning as an Inn. Taverns were historically the primary link for the marketplace providing everything from games and gambling to club gatherings and cock fights. People learned about crop prices, politics, and collected their mail. They acted as trading posts and even court rooms at times.

The LPB “Village” really is a gathering place where different people are passing through doing many different things. We incorporated this spirit into our Tropical Tavern for Island Fever where we emphasise a casual relaxed atmosphere where all are welcome. The space is bright and airy and has a distinct beach vibe with the use of Caribbean Sea colors and décor. If one was to ask about dress codes we would say swimsuit casual. Walk ins are always welcome but it’s a good idea to make reservations for groups of 6 or more so we can ensure we have a table set. Service is relaxed and casual. We expect people to relax and take their time and really adjust to Island time and go with the flow. In these days of fast food and such a rushed fast paced culture it’s a luxury to let it go and enjoy the view and gentle breezes that blow through Petite Calivigny Bay. Take a walk on our Jetty and make your self at home exploring the lightship, even climbing up to the top of the lighthouse. Grab a beer and take a swim in the pool or off the beach and slow down for a while.

EAT – DRINK – CHILL
We are looking forward to sharing with you local ingredients used in creative ways and creative craft cocktails sometime soon!
